When you login to access services at Duke using your NetID, you will go through an electonic authorization process to confirm your identity. Duke uses Shibboleth for single-sign-on authentication. Shibboleth is an open-source authorization provider created by Internet2, a community of academic, research, industrial, and governmental institutions. 

IT staff and developers may wish to add Shibboleth to websites or applications to limit access to only Duke users.
