AKA is a DNS management system for IT staff. It allows you to view both internal (Duke University & Duke Health) and external (public) views on a single page and edit as one.
Primary Goals:
- Simplify management across Internal/External DNS View
- Visualize relationships between DNS records
- Allow departments to manage permissions
- Track changes
- Easy to use API
- Cleanup of unuse IPs
Permissions are:
- Based on groups in Group Manager
- Set at DNS Zone and Subnet level
- Allows IT Staff to see and edit permissions
- Two levels
- Operator (can create/delete/edit records)
- Owner (operator + set permissions)
