Senior Director, Enterprise Systems & Support
Chris Meyer is senior director of Enterprise Systems & Support in the Office of Information Technology at Duke University, where he directs application development, systems integration, and decision/operational support for enterprise-class administrative systems. He provides technical oversight for Student Information Services and Systems (SISS), SAP Business Information Systems (HR, Payroll, Financials, Procurement, and Alumni Advancement), Duke Alumni Development Systems, Enterprise Web and Mobile development and Analytics and Data Science.
Before becoming director, Chris was the technical project manager for the PeopleSoft Student System. He has been at Duke since 1994, when he joined the staff as a senior project manager and software engineer.
Prior to joining Duke, Chris managed and supported DG/UX operating system commands and libraries and Ingres and Oracle relational database systems running on DG/UX at Data General Corp. in Research Triangle Park, N.C. Before Data General, he was a software engineer with General Telephone and Electronics (GTE) in Billerica, Mass., working on World Wide Military Command and Control System (WWMCCS) projects and a Software Development and Maintenance Environment using the ADA programming language and following Military Standard 2167.
Chris has attended and presented at national conferences such as EDUCAUSE, Gartner, CUMREC, Oracle/PeopleSoft Higher Education Users Group and NADGUG (National DG Users Group). He is Duke University’s representative in Ivy+ Administrative Systems. Chris holds an M.S. in computer science from Old Dominion University and a B.S. in environmental science from the University of Virginia.
