Print Responsibly: $20 ePrint Quota for Students, Faculty and Staff

Duke’s campus-wide printing system, ePrint, makes it easy for students, faculty, and staff to print from computers and mobile devices to designated eprint stations conveniently located across campus.

As part of the university’s ongoing cost-saving and sustainability efforts, everyone is encouraged to print only when necessary.

In early August, every member of the Duke community, including students, faculty and staff, received a $20 ePrint quota for the semester.

This year, the student allocation, previously $32, has been reduced by $12. To help conserve printing allocations, Duke offers options for document-sharing such as Box and Microsoft OneDrive.

The $20 quota covers approximately 500 double-sided black-and-white pages, and is designed to support reasonable academic use. Once your $20 balance has been used, additional printing costs will be charged directly to your FLEX account.

The ePrint client can be downloaded for free from software.duke.edu. To find an ePrint location near you, visit eprint.oit.duke.edu

With ePrint, users can:

  • Print to any designated ePrint printer on campus;
  • Print directly from a mobile device; and
  • Keep their job in the print queue for up to 24 hours before deletion.

Note: Graduate and professional schools may maintain their own print allocations. Contact your local IT department.
