Below is an overview of services offered by the Audiovisual Classroom support teams.
Classroom Technology
Panopto Lecture Capture
Panopto is Duke's primary platform for lecture capture and video content management. The OIT AV Classroom Support Team provides assistance with setup, troubleshooting, and best practices.
Lecture Capture is available only to faculty and staff by request in Panopto supported spaces.
- Recordings are retained for two years unless otherwise specified
- Permanent copies can be requested via support ticket

Zoom Room Carts
Zoom Room carts are available upon request for classrooms that are not Zoom-capable. Reservations made by faculty and/or staff are required.
Each cart includes a camera, microphone, and speaker, enabling full Zoom functionality for classes or meetings.
Training & Events
In-person and virtual training is available for faculty, staff, and students on classroom technology and best practices. Whether preparing for a semester of teaching, hosting a special event, or onboarding new staff members, the OIT AV team ensures you are equipped and supported.
Training topics include:
- Operating classroom AV systems (projectors, microphones, control panels, Panopto, Zoom Room carts)
- Departmental walkthroughs for new or upgraded AV spaces
- Best practices for hybrid teaching and troubleshooting
Service Level Agreements
OIT AV offers service and routine maintenance agreements to help departments ensure reliable classroom technology. We also provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support, engineering, installation, and integration services for new or upgraded AV spaces. To learn more or request a consultation, please submit a support ticket.
