Director of Customer and Academic Support

Paula Batton oversees three teams including Academic Support, Centralized Desktop and Services Support, and the OIT Service Desk.

In her role, Paula ensures that OIT's front-end services meet the computing needs of the university's diverse community, providing walk-up, phone, and chat support to users at multiple locations across campus. With over 20 years of experience at Duke, she has a deep understanding of the university's technology ecosystem and leverages her expertise to deliver effective solutions and services to users.

Paula is an active member of several industry groups, including the IvyPlus Customer Support Directors Group and the HigherEd ITSMf group. Her professional certifications include HDI Support Center Manager and Comptia Network+.
