Director of Budgets & Business Services
David Mixon oversees the finance and cellular services operations for OIT's operational managers. With over fifteen years at Duke, David has played various roles in OIT, including Senior Manager/Director of business support systems, project and consulting services, administration, and OIT Site Licensing.
David's primary responsibility is to ensure that OIT and Duke's resources are utilized optimally. His group works closely with central Duke University offices, such as the Budget Office, Procurement, and Accounts Payable, to ensure OIT's financial functions run smoothly. Additionally, Cellular Services, under David's leadership, manages corporate relationships such as with Duke cellular vendors where he negotiates contracts and service offerings, manages the website portals for departmental access, and provides account management support to the Duke community.
Before joining Duke, David worked at Saint Leo University, where he held various financial and IT positions. Over a decade at Saint Leo, he served as the Bursar, Director of Budgets and Accounting, and Director of Information Technology.
David holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Florida. His vast experience and expertise in financial management and IT make him an essential asset to the Duke community.
