Webex accounts will be decommissioned Feb. 1, 2023

Duke University and Duke Health are decommissioning Webex User Accounts effective Wednesday, February 1, 2023, and will shift to Zoom for conferencing and collaboration needs. This decision was based on a significant decline in Webex usage and will allow for consolidation of technology support. Current Webex users can use this three-month window to explore Zoom, which offers a user-friendly experience for conferencing needs.

Webex user accounts will be decommissioned and Webex recordings will no longer be available. Downloading Webex recordings prior to February 1, 2023, is recommended. 

While Webex will remain available until February, Webex users are encouraged to start using Zoom as soon as possible to ensure a smooth transition. Duke Health will still have the ability join a Webex Meeting as a “GUEST.” 

NOTE: Cisco Webex Rooms/Devices will NOT be impacted. Cisco Webex Rooms/Devices will remain registered to the Cisco Webex Control Hub (Cloud).
