Coming Soon! New EMS integrations to roll out this spring
As part of the new EMS Room Scheduling software rollout to the university this spring there will be several integrated features available to current and future Duke users. The new functionality will not only enhance usability, it will also provide a more seamless transition for university departments interested in using EMS for their room scheduling needs.
Information about these new features is outlined below. If you are interested in learning more about the EMS Room Scheduling service send your request via email, emsreservations@duke.edu.
EMS Kiosk App
The EMS Kiosk App is a powerful yet easy-to-use interactive tool for reviewing room availability, booking space, and searching for a meeting location. A floor plan view of the building and/or floor is also available for display on a Kiosk. Note: A pilot of the EMS Kiosk App is underway on the first floor of the OIT’s office at the Power House (300 Fuller Street, Durham).
Digital Room Signs
For spaces with digital room signs, room availability and scheduling will be available, either through EMS for Outlook (see below), or directly through integration with EMS, depending on the hardware and license agreement.
EMS for Outlook Integration
EMS for Outlook allows people to view room availability and reserve rooms in either EMS or in Microsoft Outlook. Note: The project team is configuring and testing the integration between these two systems and will be updating processes to ensure the integration is seamless.
EMS Integration with Microsoft Teams
Microsoft Teams integration lets users add a Microsoft Teams meeting to an EMS room reservation. Note: The project team is configuring and testing this integration and will communicate when it is available to current EMS users.
EMS Integration with Zoom
The Zoom integration lets users add a Zoom meeting to an EMS room reservation. Note: The project team is configuring and testing this integration and will communicate when it is available to current EMS users.
Future updates will be provided as the EMS system integrations become available.
