OIT AV Zoom Cart Information
Zoom Carts are mobile audiovisual units equipped with a camera, microphone, and speaker system that make it easy to host Zoom-based classes, meetings, or hybrid sessions in spaces without built-in conferencing technology. If you are teaching in a room that is not Zoom capable, you may request a cart. Please note that Zoom carts are available in select campus buildings. Zoom carts can be moved between classrooms or conference rooms as needed, they are not specific to a room.
- Most buildings have two carts; reservations are recommended to ensure availability.
- Carts are delivered no later than 10–15 minutes before your scheduled class or event.
- Requests must be made by faculty or staff (students cannot reserve carts). We recommend making a reservation as soon as the need is known, ideally several days before use.
- Reservations are recommended to ensure availability.
- Alternatives: If a cart isn’t available, our team can assist with using Zoom on the room PC or provide a loaner webcam and microphone.
Use Cases
- Classes or meetings in rooms without built-in Zoom capabilities
- Hybrid instruction or guest speaker sessions
- Departmental meetings or events requiring quick, mobile video setup
