BCS Studio 3 is provided for the purpose of recording for Duke related projects. Any activities not related to its primary use is prohibited. If you are found violating this policy, your access to the BCS will be revoked.

What Not To Do
- No eating or drinking
- Do not adjust any equipment settings or physical position
- Do not use for any production other than Duke related projects
- Exceptions
- OK to open/close curtains for green screen/black curtain
- OK to move the desk out of the way for standing shots
- OK Adjust Camera (Zoom, etc)
- OK to move the desk out of the way if you don’t want to use it.

What To Do
- Camera Monitor
The small 7” “FEELWORLD” monitor under the teleprompter- To Turn On, press and hold the power button on the top, far right as you are facing the monitor. Same to turn off.
- Mac Monitor
- Press button labeled “POWER” on the back of the VIZIO monitor
- Press the space bar on the keyboard to wake up the Mac
- Enter your NetID and Password to log in
- Recording To QuickTime
- The camera and mic should already be selected
- If not, Select “USB Video” and “USB Audio”
- Recording To QuickTime
- Launch QuickTime from the left side dock
- Press Record
- If you want to keep the take, save the file
- The camera and mic should already be selected
- Recording To Camtasia
- Launch Camtasia from the dock
- To use Camtasia, you will need to enable system level permissions to the microphone, webcam, and screen capture upon first launching the software.
- Active/Select the right desktop or desktop window/area if you want to record the desktop
- Activate the camera if you want to record yourself
- Activate the microphone if you want to do voice over
- Activate “System Audio” if you want to record sounds being played back on the computer
- As soon as you are done with each recording, save the file
- Using the "Recording" Light
- The exterior "Recording" light can be turned on by pressing the associated button on the sound bar in front of the television. Pressing it twice will turn it off. The light will automatically turn off after one hour.
- File Management
- Do not leave files on the local computer. Files can and will be deleted without warning.
- You can
- Copy files to your Box folder
- Copy files to your folder on the NAS
- Copy files to a USB drive by connecting the device to the computer
Teleprompter
- Log into the iPad Pro (password = studio)
- Press the Shortcut “Airdrop 10Minutes” on the home screen
- Download your text file to the Mac Studio
- Right click on the text file and select “Share”
- Select “Airdrop” and Select “Studio 3 iPad Pro”
- Launch “Teleprompter” on the iPad Pro
- Click on the “Load File” Icon in the bottom right corner (looks like a piece of paper with a “+” on it
- Select “Upload text from your phone”
- Click “Downloads”
- You should see your file there, open it.
- The buttons across the bottom are (from left to right): Reverse, Rotate, Play, Speed, Font Size and “Other Settings like alignment, color, etc.
- The remote is tethered to the right side of the table. Use the power button to turn it on and you have controls for play/pause, speed and font size.
When you are done with your session:
- Turn Off Overhead lights
- Place all furniture back in their original position
- Close the black curtains
- Remove any furniture you may have brought in with you
- Remove your files from the Mac
- Log Out of The Mac
- Turn off The Vizio Monitor
- Turn off The FEELWORD Monitor
- Turn off The Camera
- Turn off the room lights
- Close and make sure the door is locked
