Microsoft 365 (formerly Office 365): Configure the Microsoft Outlook app for iOS

Note: Duke Health users accessing Microsoft 365 from a mobile device must enroll in Mobile Device Manager (Airwatch).

These instructions reflect the experience in iOS 14.3.

Download and install Microsoft Outlook app

  1. In the App Store, search for and select Microsoft Outlook.
  2. Get/download the app, then select Open.

Never had aa Microsoft 365 account on your device?

If you've never had a Microsoft 365 account/app on your device, do the following:

  1. In the Add Account screen, enter your Duke email address and select Add Account. The Duke Log In screen appears.
  2. Enter your NetID and password, authenticate using multi-factor authentication, and select Log In.
  3. In the Add Another Account screen, select Maybe Later.
  4. An Enable Notifications message appears. 
  5. Select Turn On or No Thanks. Your Inbox is displayed.

Already have/had a Microsoft 365 account on your device (in Mail/Calendar)?

These instructions assume you have/had a Microsoft 365 account configured in Mail or Calendar, and are not already using the Microsoft Outlook app for non-Duke account.

  1. In the Outlook app, a screen appears indicating your Duke email.
  2. Click Add Account.
  3. On the Add Another Account screen, select Maybe Later.
  4. An Enable Notifications message appears. 
  5. Select Turn On or No Thanks. Your Inbox is displayed.

Note: Duke Health users with will need to activate the device administrator function to be able to use the app.
