Office 365: retrieve message headers using OWA

Gathering Header information in the Outlook Web App (OWA)

You may need to get a header of a specific piece of mail as part of a troubleshooting step by IT analysts. Below is the method to retrieve the necessary information to assist analysts.


1. Log into OWA by going to mail.duke.edu

2. Log in if prompted. Find the message in your email account that you need headers for and click on the email.

3. Click the three dots on the far right of the email preview.

4. Click View, then View message details.

5. The dialog box that comes up is the header. Copy/paste all of the information and provide it to the analyst in the requested method.
