UPDATE: VPN no longer required for off-campus access to DukeHub

Update: As of Friday, June 12, 2026, the Duke VPN Is no longer required for access to DukeHub and DKUHub. Users can now connect directly without establishing a VPN session. 

In response to an emerging security issue June 9-11, all users accessing DukeHub and DKUHub from outside the Duke network were required to temporarily use Duke's Virtual Private Network (VPN). 

This preventative measure was implemented in response to a recently identified security issue. The issue was addressed as quickly as possible, with the Information Technology Security Office taking proactive steps to help protect Duke systems and data.

Users who do not currently have VPN installed should visit the Office of Information Technology's VPN webpage for instructions on downloading, installing, and configuring the service.
