Important News About Qualtrics

Duke University is presently in contract negotiations with the vendor of Qualtrics, a survey tool accessible to all Duke and DKU community members.  The licensing costs for Qualtrics has already increased by 50 percent compared to last year, and initial indications from the vendor suggests they may further increase the price by three times.

Given the widespread use of Qualtrics across various departments and organizations at Duke, we are adopting a multi-pronged approach and comprehensive strategy to: 

• Continue negotiations with the vendor to reduce costs
• Analyze the usage patterns and specific needs of heavy users throughout Duke and DKU
• Explore alternative solutions, both currently utilized at Duke/DKU and potentially new options.

More information will be forthcoming in the coming weeks.  We invite you to to participate in one of two upcoming Zoom sessions. These sessions will provide an update on Duke's contract negotiations, discuss what's at stake, introduce alternative solutions such as Microsoft Office 365 Forms, Google Workspace Forms, and Kuali Build.
