Doing Zoom Using the AV System Using the Room PC

 

1. Use the room computer when possible; it is usually connected to the display, speakers, microphone, and camera.
2. On the touch panel, select Room Computer, sign in with your netID and password, open Zoom, and test the room devices.
   
   

Using Personal Device/ Laptop

1. On a personal laptop, connect HDMI for display to the projector and USB to connect to the room camera/microphones. Make sure to plug in both cables to your laptop. 

2. Both the USB and HDMI cables are in the drawer on the rack. Usually at the bottom of the rack. To open the drawer, push down and pull. 

 

 

Zoom Settings and Camera Adjustments

1. If you are using a room equipped with cameras and conducting a Zoom session, you can select which camera view to send to Zoom and adjust the camera settings.

 

 

a. Available camera views include:

• • • • • Speaker/Presenter Camera – Located at the back of the room, this camera shows the presenter at the front of the room.
        • Audience Camera – Located at the front of the room, this camera captures the entire class.

b. Depending on the room's system, these options can be found under Camera Controls, Room PC, or Advanced Settings.

 

2. In Zoom, select and test the correct speaker, microphone, and camera.

a. Click the drop-down menu that says microphone. 

b. Then select  "Test microphone and speaker". If you don't hear any sound, select "No, try another speaker/mic".

 

Check this next

• Not all rooms provide USB camera/microphone access to personal laptops.
• Avoid enabling audio on two computers in the same room; it can cause echo. Click on  "No Audio" or "Leave Audio" in the other devices.
• If a personal laptop cannot see room devices, use the room computer.
