Kuali Build: Replacing a Streamer Directory Integration on a Form
Support for Streamer Directory integrations in Kuali Build is ending June 30, 2025, and the integration will be deleted on December 31, 2025. In place of Streamer, update your form(s) to use Kuali People or the Duke Internal Directory Data integration (or both). If you need NetID as a separate field on your form, you must use Duke Internal Directory Data. For more detailed instructions, see Replacing Streamer with Kuali People_Duke Directory.
Timing the updateWe recommend you update your app(s) as soon as possible. The Streamer Directory integrations for Kuali Build will no longer be supported after June 30 and will no longer function after Dec. 31, 2025. Use the following guidelines to minimize disruption to form submitters. If your form is:
- Very or moderately active, replace Streamer during off-hours.
- Not very active, or inactive temporarily, replace Streamer as soon as you can.
- Not active and won’t be used again, no action is required. Consider deleting the app.
Disable submissions, add new data sources (Kuali People and/or Duke Internal Directory), and remove Streamer fields.
- On the Form tab, select Form Settings.
- Under Submission Settings, select Disable submissions.
- Review the document list. For any documents whose workflow status is In Progress, complete the workflow. This may require skipping or reassigning steps or asking colleagues to complete action items. You can also delete a document if it is not needed.
- On the form, without removing Streamer fields, add Kuali People or the Duke Directory data sources and any linked auto-filled gadgets to the form.
- Name the new fields; we recommend enabling and assigning a unique Custom column name to the new lookup (indicated with an anchor) field.*
- Relabel the fields that used the Streamer data source (append with OLD or similar). Once renamed, delete the one displaying an anchor symbol. All the linked fields will also be deleted.
The deleted Streamer fields are archived and will always be available in the document list or in exports. Submitted forms containing the Streamer fields retain them.
* Since linked auto-filled gadgets cannot be assigned custom column names, your document list/export data may include more than one column with the same name, for example, “Email.”
Update workflowReview and update workflow steps as needed.
- On the Workflow tab, review the workflow. Red text indicates an item that needs attention.
- Make updates based on the new form fields.
- Enable Test mode and run a test.
On the Form tab, select Form Settings and re-enable submissions.
Update document list viewsIn the Documents tab, review the Default View in Data Settings and add/remove the desired fields. Advise anyone who has permission to view the Documents list to update custom views, if any. Read more about creating custom document list views.
