Support@Duke: How do I find knowledge base articles that are assigned to my group or a specific group?

Question

How do I find knowledge base articles that are assigned to my groups?

Answer

There are 2 ways to do this.

  1. Click on the Knowledge Base module on the left hand side of the screen.
  2. Select My Groups' Knowledge.
This method will show you all articles assigned to all groups that you are a member of.

To see articles that are assigned to a specific group:
  1. Click on the Knowledge Base module on the left hand side of the screen.
  2. Click Edit. This will load all articles in the ServiceNow system.
  3. Click the small arrow next to All to open the filter menu. (See http://wiki.servicenow.com/index.php?title=Using_Filters_and_Breadcrumbs for a full walkthrough of using filters)
  4. Add a condition to the filter: Authoring Group is <your group>. Just auto-type in the group field to type the name of the group you want to search for.
  5. Click Run to run the filter.

This filter will pull up all articles assigned to the specified group, including articles in draft, technical review and retired workflow state. You can add additional steps to the filter if you want to only see a subset of those articles. You can also click on the column headers to sort based on the column value.

You can save the filter to run in the future: while the filter menu is open, click Save to name the filter and then save again. Once you do that, the filter will be available from the Knowledge menu at the top of the window.
