OIT disables Microsoft's Outlook mobile app

Microsoft's Outlook mobile app, recently released for Android and iOS, has been disabled for access to Duke's office  365 environment. The decision to disable this application is due to security concerns regarding compliance with Duke's data security standards, password caching, and storage locations.

Microsoft released the mobile app quietly and without notice in late January giving Duke little chance ensure its security. Once it was evaluated, it was determined to not meet Duke security standards and was disabled.

Users will still be able to use the Outlook for Web Access (OWA) app available for:

The Microsoft Outlook mobile app is currently under review by the Medicine and University security teams. Please check back for updates about its future availability.
