Important Security Update for Apple Devices
Apple recently released security updates for Mac computers with macOS Monterey, iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, and Apple TV devices. These updates fix multiple security vulnerabilities that could allow an attacker to take control of an affected system.
Those with any of the above Apple devices are strongly encouraged to back up them up and install the necessary security updates.
The macOS Monterey update can be downloaded on all eligible Macs using the Software Update section of System Preferences. From the Apple menu in the corner of your screen, choose System Preferences. In the System Preferences window, click Software Update. Click Update Now.
iPhones and iPads
The iOS and iPadOS updates can be downloaded on all eligible devices in the Settings app. To access the new software, go to Settings > General > Software Update. Tap Install Now. If you see Download and Install instead, tap it to download the update, enter your passcode, then tap Install Now.
The watchOS can be downloaded through the dedicated Apple Watch app on the iPhone by going to General > Software Update. To install the new software, the Apple Watch needs to have at least 50 percent battery, it needs to be placed on a charger, and it needs to be in range of the iPhone.
Apple TV devices
The tvOS updates can be downloaded on the Apple TV through the Settings app by going to Settings > System > Software Updates and select Update Software.
