A Viewer’s Guide To DukeCapture

  • Your instructor or event organizer will provide you with the URLs to your recordings.
  • If DukeCapture prompts you to log in, choose win.duke.edu from the drop down menu and enter your NetID and password.
  • Click here for an overview to the DukeCapture web player interface.
  • You can enter time based text notes (aka bookmarks) as you watch the recording and then search those notes. For more information on taking notes (either live or when watching a recorder), click here.
  • You may be prompted to install or upgrade the Silverlight plug in. This plug-in is required for you to watch Panopto, please install or upgrade when prompted. Note for those of you using Firefox on a Mac:  it is recommended that you update to the latest version of Silverlight after updating to Firefox 4 or later.  This will eliminate the need to restart your browser in 32-bit mode each time you launch Firefox to view Panopto presentations.
  • The presenter may decide to make their recording available via audio podcast or video vodcast through iTunes U or via RSS feeds. Contact your presenter (faculty member) for more information as to this availability.
