Duke Digital Signage
What is the Duke Information Display system?
In Fall 2010, OIT began a pilot to test the Cisco Digital Signage system which consists of a central media server and small media appliances that can be easily installed behind a video monitor. The goal of this project is to provide a cost effective, centrally managed infrastructure for the distribution of information via networked video screens (aka digital signs) across campus. Establishing this network of displays will allow the Duke community to request publication of content in multiple location. It will also provide an additional communications method in the event of an emergency.
In May 2011, OIT completed the first phase of their pilot of the Cisco Digital Signage System. OIT has decided to extend the pilot while they work on some requested system enhancements. During this time, OIT is interested in hearing from those that are interested in digital signage for their school or department. If you are interested, please complete this short survey or contact oit-its-info@duke.edu to arrange a consultation.
