Cisco TelePresence systems purchase & installation services
Cisco TelePresence systems range from small two-participant systems, which can be installed on a cart or fixed pedestal; to large, multi-person conferencing systems; to classroom systems such as the one installed at the Fuqua School of Business' HCA classroom. To find out which system best meets your needs, complete this interest form, and a media professional will respond within five business days to discuss your options.
Cisco TelePresence multi-participant conferences
Direct,one-to-one calls to Cisco TelePresence units within the Duke network or to other universities or institutions that are on the National Lambda Rail (NLR) network do not require any additional support. The numbers for these systems, in the phone book for the phone associated with each TelePresence system, can be dialed directly. If you must connect to more than one TelePresence system during a session, or if you wish to connect to a Cisco TelePresence system not on the Duke or NLR network, your local school or departmental IT/Media professional can utilize OIT's centralized equipment to make this possible, performing the initial setup and monitoring of your conference.
Cisco TelePresence to traditional video conferencing (interop service)
OIT has installed equipment that allows traditional video conferencing systems (often referred to as H.323 systems) to connect with Cisco TelePresence systems. Any number of systems (within the number of ports available at the time of your call) can be joined into a single conference. Even voice-only participants can join.
Your local school or departmental IT/Media professional can use OIT's centralized equipment to make this possible, performing the initial setup and monitoring of your conference.
