Duke upgrades voicemail system

OIT will be upgrading the Duke voicemail system over the weekend of July 27-29 to consolidate all Duke users onto one platform.

Voicemail will be available during the upgrade. However, users should not make any changes to their voicemail ID or password during that time. OIT recommends that all voicemail users dial into the old systems on Monday, July 30, to ensure that they receive messages sent prior to the upgrade.

After the upgrade, all old voicemail messages — as well as any messages received during the upgrade — will be saved on the old systems through the end of September.

To retrieve messages from the old systems, some users must dial a new number:

  • Users who dialed 613-MAIL will need to dial 613-3000 to hear old messages.
  • Users who dialed 684-8000 or 613-6000 can continue to dial those numbers to hear old messages.

After the upgrade, all new voicemail messages will be saved on the new system. All university and health system users can retrieve new voicemail remotely by dialing 613-MAIL (6245). Users cannot transfer messages from the old systems to the new system.
