Recommended settings for WebMail
To improve WebMail's speed, the OIT Service Desk recommends that the system be set to display 25 messages per page. To accomplish this:
- Log in to https://webmail.duke.edu with your NetID and password.
- Click on the "Settings" tab at the top of the screen to reveal your system settings.
- Scroll down to the sixth subsection (Look for "Default view"), and change the "Messages per page" to a lower number. For optimal performance, the Service Desk recommends that this be no more than 25 messages per page.
Users have also asked how to change from the default two-pane view to a three-pane view. To accomplish this:

- Click on the "Settings" tab at the top of the screen to reveal your system settings.
- Scroll down to the sixth subsection (Look for "Default view"), and change the "Default view" from "2 pane" to "3 pane."
