Remedy Users Should Change NetID Password

The team that provides functional and technical support for Remedy, including Office of Information Technology and Duke Health Technology Solutions staff, discovered an issue with the application's desktop client that could compromise users' NetID passwords. While the issue has been resolved, the Remedy team and Duke's IT security personnel are requiring users of the desktop client to change NetID passwords to reduce risks to personal data and Duke's technology environment.

If you are among the users affected, you should have received an e-mail with instructions already. At noon on Monday, March 21, passwords not yet reset will be reset by the OIT Service Desk or DHTS Service Desk, requiring these users to contact the appropriate service team for support.

To change your password (Note that these links were deliberately not provided in the original e-mail to users, to avoid the possibility that the message would be mistaken for a phishing attempt):

Changing your NetID password will also change your password on some other systems, such as university and health system Active Directory domains. You may need to change your password on other applications and on smartphones and other devices you use to access mail, calendar or other resources.

For additional information, please contact the OIT Service Desk.
