RESOLVED: This maintenance activity completed on the evening of Monday, June 27.
OIT is performing maintenance intended to address an issue that has degraded performance for the DukeMail service, including delays in delivery of mail and error messages in connection with sending mail. During maintenance periods that run from 9 p.m. through 6 a.m. with the first outage beginning on Monday, June 20, and the last one ending at 6 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, we will move accounts off the second of our DukeMail data storage volumes so that we can reconfigure it for improved performance.
If your mail account is moved in connection with this maintenance, you will see a brief period when your mail client (Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.) will be unable to connect to your account. Once the move is complete, your client should connect again without a problem. (Note regarding Mac Mail: Our testing indicates that Mac Mail may go blank during the transfer, as if all content in the account is gone. If this occurs, close Mac Mail and then restart to establish the connection to the new mail storage volume.)
