Request phone, data and cable TV services online

Staff and faculty now can request new phone, data and cable service or repairs using an online services and repairs form. Starting April 20, 2009, all requests must be submitted using the online form. Customers can call the OIT Service Desk at (919) 684-2200 and choose Option 3 if they need assistance with the transition.

“We wanted the request process to be as simple and automated as possible – we wanted the customer to be able to fill out the form in five minutes,” said Kevin Harpham, senior manager of Telecom Field Ops.

The form requires users to provide their name, phone number, location and fund code. If needed, they can attach more detailed information in Word, Excel or PDF documents to clarify a work request. Once submitted, the information is sent directly to the Telecommunications group for a quick and efficient response.
