Duke's campus has wired Ethernet connectivity throughout residence halls, libraries, academic and administrative buildings, research labs and many classrooms. The standard connection speed is 100Mbps (Fast Ethernet), though 1000Mbps (Gigabit Ethernet) is selectively available in academic and research buildings.
Coming Soon: Wireless access to be added throughout Duke's residence halls by August, 2008. Wireless network access is available throughout academic and administrative buildings at Duke, as well as the common rooms of residence halls. Outdoor coverage is provided at the Bryan Center Pavilion, Duke Gardens, and Krzyzewskiville.
Faculty, staff, and students can connect to Duke's network from off-campus through a variety of means: dialup modem, home broadband, or across the Internet through a Virtual Private Network connection.
NetReg enables self-service of host registrations on the Duke network, including updates to DNS names, DHCP configuration, static/dynamic IP addressing, and more.
