Get Connected: Wired

Duke's campus has wired Ethernet connectivity throughout residence halls, libraries, academic and administrative buildings, research labs and many classrooms. The standard connection speed is 100Mbps (Fast Ethernet). Gigabit Ethernet (1000Mbps) is available in select academic and research buildings.

Residence hall connectivity: Each dorm room has two activated Internet/network (Ethernet) connections. Some dorm rooms have an access point installed in one of the ACTIVE data jacks. If you need an additional Ethernet connection activated, contact the OIT Service Desk.

If your device does not automatically configure the connection, after being plugged into an active Ethernet outlet, please contact your local IT administrator, or call the OIT Service Desk at (919) 684-2200.

Once connected to the DUKE network, open a Web browser and visit https://dukereg.duke.edu. Follow the instructions to use your NetID and password to register your computer.

Note: All machines must be registered through this system prior to use on the campus network.
