Network Address Translation

To make better use of the limited number of public IP addresses available to us, Duke has implemented network address translation (NAT)—the  process of "masquerading" individual addresses on a private network as a single IP address on the public network—on its residential wired network (ResNet) and wireless networks across campus.

The majority of end users are not affected by this change. If you require a public IP address, please use the form below to submit your request. After you click "Submit", your request will be routed to OIT. You should receive a reply within 5 business days.
