Remove old versions of SAPgui
Before installing SAPgui 7.00, you should remove any existing version of the frontend software. There are no uninstall routines; simply drag the SAPGUI folder to the Trash, then empty the Trash.
SAPgui 7.00 Installation for Mac OS X
- Download the SAPgui 7.00 Revision 1 installer archive for Mac OS X from the OIT Site License website.
- Double-click the downloaded file, sapgui700r1.zip. It will expand into a folder named SAPgui-7.00r1-MacOSX-install.
- Open the folder and launch PlatinGUI-MacOSX-700r1.jar.
- The Welcome! dialog box will be displayed. Click Next.
- You will be prompted to choose an installation folder. The default should be appropriate (/Applications/SAP Clients), but you may change this to the user's home directory if desired. Once you have chosen a location, click OK.
- The SAPgui client will be installed. A dialog box will appear, notifying you of successful installation. Click OK.
SAPgui configuration
SAP uses kerberos authentication for access to all production systems. To use SAP, you must have a NetID that is authorized for SAP. Users should contact their local SAP user administrator to request access to SAP.
- You must have SAPgui 7.00 installed before you run the configuration installer.
- Be sure the SAP user is logged in. This person does not need to be an administrator of the machine.
- Launch SAPgui-Duke-config-MacOSX, located in the SAPgui-7.00r1-MacOSX-install folder.
- Click Install. Unless you have special installation needs, you should be able to take the defaults for any other prompts displayed during installation.
- Note that you must log out of Mac OS X and log back in before using SAP.
