Printing from PARIS
If your PARIS reports look different from what you expect, you may be using a printer that the Citrix server does not support. Citrix server uses Windows NT technology, and many new print drivers are not available for that platform. If you experience problems printing reports from PARIS, try one of the methods below.
Add a printer with an older driver (Windows)
Add a printer that has the same path as the desired printer, but uses an older driver. These instructions include setting the new printer as your default printer, which you must do before you start PARIS.
- Select Start > Printers and Faxes. The Printers and Faxes window opens.
- Click Add a printer. The Add Printer Wizard opens.
- Click Next.
- In the Local or Network Printer window, select the desired option and click Next.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install the printer as you normally would. If you need help, contact your system administrator.
- In the Printer Driver Selection window, in the Manufacturer list, select the same manufacturer as the desired printer.
- In the Printer list, select a model older than the desired printer. For example, select HP LaserJet 4 or HP LaserJet III if you are using a relatively new HP LaserJet.
- Click Next. The printer is installed.
- In the Default Printer window, select Yes.
- Click Next.
- In the next window, verify the displayed information and click Finish.
Select another printer within PARIS
You can use the Print Setup window to select another printer, if it has already been added (see above).
- From the PARIS Main Menu screen, select Administration > Reports. The PARIS Reports window opens.
- Click Setup. The Print Setup window opens.
- In the Name list, select the desired printer and click OK.
Export the report
You can use the export feature in PARIS to create a report in another file format (for example, .txt or .pdf). You can then print the report using Microsoft Excel, Word, or Adobe Reader.
- In the PARIS Reports window, select the desired report.
- Click Preview. The Sort Parameters window opens.
- Select the desired parameters and click OK. The Report Viewer window opens.
- Click Export. The Choose Export File window opens.
- In the Save in list, select the desired location.
- In the File name box, type the desired filename.
- In the Save as type list, select the desired file type.
- NOTE: Tabbed Text Format (.txt) is the default. You can import this file type into Microsoft Excel. Rich Text Format (.rtf, for use with Microsoft Word) and .pdf (for use with Adobe Reader) are also available.
- Click Save.
- Open the appropriate application to print the file.
