Evolution Email Setup

For current users

1)    Starting Evolution will bring you to the Welcome screen. Select Forward.

2)    The Restore from backup screen will allow you to restore all Mails, Calendars, Tasks, Memos, and Contacts. If you have the file you select the check box Restore Evolution from the backup file. Select Forward.

4)    For the Receiving Email menu under Server type select the drop down box and select IMAP. Under the category Configuration for the Server field type imap.duke.edu and for the Username type your NetID. For the Security category select SSL encryption for Use Secure Connection. Select Forward.

5)    Receiving Options gives you the opportunity to tailor Evolution. You may select any of the numerous options here based on your personal preference. Select Forward.

6)    For Sending Email under the Server Type select SMTP. Under the Server Configuration category for Server field type smtp.duke.edu and place a check for Server requires authentication. Under the Security category select SSL encryption for the Use Secure Connection option. For the Authentication category under the Username field type your NetID. Select Forward.

7)    Account Management will allow you to modify your Account Information. For the Name field you may want to type your NetID@duke.edu. Select Forward.

8)    Timezone gives you the option to select which timezone you are in. Choose the your location. Select Forward.

9)    Congratulations! You have now finished the wizard for setting up Evolution. Select Apply.
