Technology Training Coordinator

Christine Vucinich

Christine L. Vucinich, MA - Technical Education & Outreach Coordinator

Expertise: Overview of OIT Services, Desktop Publishing, WordPress & iMovie

Christine is the Technical Education & Outreach Coordinator for OIT Training. Her responsibilities include organizing the training program, training the trainers and marketing the overall program.   Christine is constantly evaluating the training program to improve its offerings to best match the needs of Duke's academic community. Christine has an undergraduate degree in communications and a masters in adult education and communications technology and has over 13 years IT training experience in the classroom and working in higher education.

Patrick RoyalPatrick Royal - Training Student Supervisor, Computer Science and Economics, 2014

Expertise: WordPress, Microsoft Office, iMovie

Patrick Royal is a junior from Raleigh, NC.  He is studying computer science and economics with a minor in math.  Patrick is also an intern at the Shodor Computational Science Corporation.  He has always been drawn to education and is excited to teach seminars at Duke.

Dagbedji FagnisseDagbedji Fagnisse  - Pratt - Computer Science, 2014

Expertise: Web Design, WordPress, Mac, Sakai Project Sites

Born and raised in Cote d’Ivoire, from Togolese parents, Dagbedji has studied for two years in South Africa before enrolling at Duke University. He finds interest in anything related to engineering, information technology and education. During his free time, he enjoys hanging out with friends, learning new skills, playing soccer and doing random things. He is very excited about sharing his passion for technology through the OIT training program

Eleanor

Eleanor Mehlenbacher  - Duke Class of 2016

Expertise:  WordPress & Social Media

Eleanor is a freshman hailing all the way from Raleigh, NC. She can usually be seen around campus playing Ultimate Frisbee, lurking in one of Biddle’s practice rooms with her guitar, making fancy espresso drinks at Joe Van Gogh, or singing with her a cappella group Lady Blue and with the Duke Chapel Choir. She’s currently studying computer science and music at Duke and can’t wait to share her love for technology with other members of the Duke community.

Jenny SuJenny Su - Trinity, 2015

Expertise: Microsoft Office, WordPress

Jenny is a sophomore in Trinity studying physics and economics from metro Atlanta. Her many hobbies include dance, art, music, and television. She is involved in a cultural dance group on campus, and in her free time she like to explore the local food options around Durham. She enjoys sharing her passions and teaching others and looks forward to helping others develop new skills in technology.

Kevin HuKevin Hu - Biomedical Engineering and Finance, 2015

Expertise: WordPress & iMovie

Kevin is a sophomore from Rockville, MD. When he’s not busy managing his ever increasing engineering workload, he enjoys jamming on the piano and playing tennis. You can see Kevin around campus singing for the Duke Chorale and screaming in Cameron. He joined OIT as a trainer because he loves technology and working with others!

Zach

Zachary Bears - Electrical Computer Engineering and Computer Science, 2016

Expertise: Wordpress, Web Programming, Vector Graphics

Zach is a freshman from Saudi Arabia majoring in electrical computer engineering and computer science. He is an avid technology and robotics enthusiast and can usually be found in the basement of Lilly studying or in his room working on one of his many projects. He loves helping other people learn about technology and joined OIT to help share his passion with others.

Scott CliffordScott Clifford - Survey Research Associate, Duke Initiative on Survey Methodology - SSRI

Expertise:  Survey Design

Scott Clifford is completing his Ph.D. in Political Science from Florida State University. His research focuses on political psychology, public opinion and experimental design. In his dissertation, he builds on literature in moral psychology to understand how the public evaluates politicians. Specifically, his work examines the interaction between citizens’ moral foundations and politicians’ issue stances and rhetoric in shaping trait perceptions.

Michael Faber

Michael Faber - Multimedia Project Studio Manager, OIT

Expertise: Photoshop & Illustrator

Michael Faber is a Duke Grad (Class of '05) and currently the manager of the Multimedia Project Studios.  In his free time he is a freelance graphic designer and spends most of his waking hours playing with Photoshop and Illustrator. Michael teaches a number of seminars each semester including one of our most popular sessions "Photoshop for Digital Photographers."

Artem K.

Artem Kazantsev - University IT Security Office

Expertise: Information Security

Artem works for the University IT Security Office as a Senior Security Analyst. His areas of expertise include: intrusion prevention and detection, vulnerability management, use of encryption, and multi-factor authentication, among others. He enjoys educating users about information security and does not miss a chance to promote secure computing. In his spare time he enjoys the outdoors when hiking, mountaineering, sport orienteering and rock climbing.
