Software Reference List
The purpose of this page is to index support, patch, and tutorial information for software offered through the OIT Software Licensing website. Some software is supported by the OIT Service Desk, and some software is supported by vendors. This list is not intended to be all-inclusive and is currently a work in progress.
EndNote
- The OIT Service desk does not provide product support for EndNote.
- The vendor provides web-based support for product issues. Contact Thomson-Reuters.
- For patches, including updates that will allow X4 to work with the latest versions of Office, visit the EndNote Updates Page.
- For licensing issues, contact OIT Software Licensing.
ePrint
- The OIT Service Desk provides full support via telephone, chat, and e-mail for ePrint. No vendor support is provided.
JMP

- For licensing issues, contact OIT Software Licensing.
Mathematica
Duke is a premier service subscriber, and support is provided by Wolfram for Faculty, Staff, and Students. Students may not contact Wolfram Support by telephone. The OIT Service desk does not provide product support for Mathematica.
- You will need the license number to contact Wolfram support.

McAfee VirusScan
- The OIT Service Desk provides full support via telephone, chat, and e-mail for the latest versions of McAfee VirusScan for Windows and Mac.
- Duke has a platinum support agreement with McAfee. Duke IT staff may contact McAfee directly for high-level issues. For more information, please see our McAfee Administrative Products information. Students and non-IT staff and faculty should contact the OIT Service Desk for all McAfee-related issues.
Microsoft Office
Duke does not have a support agreement with Microsoft. No professional support is available under the campus agreement.
- For product activation issues, visit the Office Activation FAQ site.
- The OIT Service Desk provides limited telephone, chat, and e-mail support for Microsoft Office. Visit the OIT Supported Software website to see which versions are supported.
- There are extensive web support resources available for Microsoft products. Visit support.microsoft.com or google the product issue you are having and you are likely to find a resolution
- Patches, service packs, and updates are generally automatically downloaded and installed using Microsoft/Windows updates.
Microsoft Windows
Duke does not have a support agreement with Microsoft. No professional support is available under the campus agreement.

- The OIT Service Desk provides full telephone, chat, and e-mail support for Windows Vista and XP, and limited support for Windows 7.

SPSS
Support is provided by the vendor for Faculty, Staff, and Students. Students may not contact SPSS Support by telephone. The OIT Service desk does not provide product support for SPSS, but can help with installation and renewal troubleshooting.
- To contact IBM tech support for SPSS, you will need to follow the steps and procedures outlined at IBM's SPSS Support website. Our Customer number is 2691073.
- For licensing issues, contact OIT Software Licensing.
VPN Client
- The OIT Service Desk provides full support via telephone, chat, and e-mail for Cisco VPN client (v5.2+). No vendor support is provided.
ZoomText
Zoomtext support is provided by the vendor for Faculty, staff, and students. The OIT Service Desk does not provide product support for ZoomText.
